The Arts House was born out of the desire to create a home that embodies simplicity and comfort, while also catering to the artistic sensibilities of the owners. With two children in the family, the design had to consider various dimensions such as personnel structure, psychological needs, and living habits. Jerry Wu incorporated these elements into the design, resulting in a space that is not only visually stunning but also highly functional.
One of the unique features of The Arts House is the use of different materials and colors to create a sense of depth and environmental protection. The living room, for example, showcases the collision of metal with stone and wood veneers, creating a visually striking backdrop. The designer also played with shapes and decorations, deconstructing traditional conventions to create an imaginative space that breaks boundaries.
Covering a total area of 375 square meters, The Arts House is a testament to the power of earth tones and their ability to inject a sense of hierarchy and nature into a space. The designer used different saturation color systems to embellish the main tone, resulting in a harmonious and visually appealing environment. The furniture furnishings are simple yet elegant, further enhancing the fusion and visual tension of the space.
Functionality was a key consideration in the design of The Arts House. The entrance, dining room, and living room were divided using the original partition wall, creating distinct areas while maintaining a sense of openness. The outdoor garden serves as an extension of the living room, bringing nature indoors and providing a beautiful backdrop throughout the seasons. The basement, with its tall and open structure, offers a rich and diverse functional layout.
The Arts House is a testament to the modern art fashion of space. It combines simplicity, comfort, and artistry to create a harmonious and visually stunning residential space. From the careful consideration of the homeowners' needs to the meticulous attention to detail, every aspect of this design reflects the vision and expertise of Jerry Wu.
In recognition of its outstanding design, The Arts House was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life. The Arts House truly exemplifies these qualities, making it a deserving recipient of this accolade.
